We had the Visa interview at the U.S. Consulate on Monday which was really easy. They just wanted to check his medical exam results and asked us if we had any questions or concerns about the adoption process. Thuy will pick up his Visa today (Tuesday) and we will be heading home tomorrow (Wednesday) night. Two families are leaving tonight and the rest of us tomorrow. Some of the families that were planning to leave tonight moved to Wednesday because of various reasons. We cannot wait to get home.
We stopped off at the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum after our Visa interviews. It may be too hard to see in this picture, but there are two guards by the door dressed in white. They apparently never move all day. I thought about testing them, but then I decided being stuck in a Vietnamese prison was a real possibility and I better hold off.
Here is a shot of our travel group from CHI.
Here is us and Thuy. She is the primary CHI Vietnam contact. We really like her. She is great.
Monday night we all went to a kind of grand finally dinner at a brand new Vietnamese buffet restaurant that was really good. They had some great dishes, but they also had some stuff that I have no idea what they were and I don't really want to know.
